Sharpless 2-82

Sharpless 2-82 (Sh2-82) is a small emission and reflection nebula in Sagittarius, about 3,600 light-years away. Illuminated by young, hot stars, it glows red from ionized hydrogen and blue from scattered starlight. Dense dust clouds partially obscure it, adding striking contrast to this active star-forming region. (AI description)
